Mission

1st Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment (Attack Battalion) provides U.S. Army Europe and Africa with a ready and lethal combat aviation force, capable of rapidly projecting forces across the U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command areas of responsibility in support of designated plans to assure allies and partners, deter aggression, and if necessary, defeat near peer-adversaries.

Command Sergeant Major Njikoka Anderson enlisted in the U.S Army as an Infantryman. He attended Infantry One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis, Virginia after reclassing into aviation career fields. He has served in every leadership position from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major.

He has deployed multiple times throughout his career, supporting operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Atlantic Resolve, Inherent Resolve and the peacekeeping mission with Multinational Force & Observers. He is a graduate of the Airborne Course, Air Assault school, Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course, U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center Foreign Weapons Course, Northern Warfare Training Cold Weather Course, Operations Security Program Manager Course level 2 and each level of non-commissioned officer professional development including the Sergeants Major Academy.

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Master Combat Action Badge, Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Master Aviation Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
